Mission Statement

The mission of LHS, in partnership with the community, is to develop productive citizens prepared for lifelong learning in a changing, diverse, global society.

Beliefs

We believe that:

  • Student learning and engagement are the chief priorities for the school and are the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school.

  • All students have value, can learn, and can be productive citizens.

  • All students are entitled to a safe, healthy, challenging, and positive learning environment.

  • High expectations increase individual student performance.

  • Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of effective instructional strategies to encourage lifelong learning.

  • Students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.

  • Students should be prepared for emerging technologies.

  • Students should exemplify citizenship, self-sufficiency, and strong moral character by being respectful of differences in cultures, customs, religions, languages, and special needs.
